Sleep and the Kingdom

Justin Mullins passed along to me a word about sleep and the Kingdom. (He thinks he heard it from John Piper, but isn't sure.) It was encouraging and challenging and so I pass it to you.
The Kingdom of God is why we go to bed late and wake up early.
May we remember that our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed, that we are in the last days, and our Savior could come at any moment. Let us work diligently without complaint but with anticipation, as if these were our last moments.

I have a question about this, because I've actually heard Piper say, "Could it be that the Holy Spirit is sent to humble us, to tell us that we are not God, so that we realize our need for sleep, and through getting sleep we are more joyful people?" (Passion '05, breakout session on "Why I Don't Desire God")

So, what are your thoughts on the Kingdom of God and going to bed early so we can wake up early? I feel like the quote is a good one, except that the reason many people are sluggards in the morning may be because they stay up too late.

Give me some of that classic Dave Ainsworth balanced wisdom.
